The northwest region of upstate South Carolina is known as “The Golden Corner”. Located between Atlanta GA and Charlotte NC, the area is easily assessable via Interstate 85, US 123 and scenic SC Highway 11.

There are three major lakes in the area – Lakes Hartwell, Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee - each with their own character and appeal. The Blue Ridge Mountains provide a backdrop for spectacular scenery, abundant water sports and other outdoor recreational activities of your choice. Numerous national, state and county parks and recreational facilities are in the Golden Corner, many with convenient access to one of the major lakes.

Seneca SC, which was recently selected as the best retirement area in the Carolinas, by Retirement Lifestyles of the Carolinas, is the largest town in the Golden Corner. Clemson SC, home of Clemson University, is nearby and offers nationally recognized undergraduate and graduate educational programs, cultural diversity and NCAA collegiate sports. There are numerous other interesting small towns and villages with quaint names and friendly folks, including historic Pendleton, Pickens, Walhalla, Westminster, Tamassee, Rocky Bottom and Salem.
